New Year's Resolutions 2017

New Year’s Resolutions

It’s a New Year and time to make resolutions. Then, of course, comes the hard work of trying to keep them.

Here at Brightline we are excited that 2017 is the year that South Florida will experience reimagined passenger train travel firsthand. Commuters and visitors alike will be able to avoid crowded highways and travel by train in comfort and style on the only privately funded express passenger rail system in the country.

Beginning this summer, you’ll be able to take a train to Miami and back from the new West Palm Beach train station and new Fort Lauderdale train station, with convenient departures throughout the day and evening. Put spending less time stuck in your car at the top of your New Year’s resolutions list.

Here are other popular New Year’s resolutions to consider:

Stay fit. Get some exercise by riding your bike to catch the Brightline passenger train. You can also take your bike on the train – it’s easy to wheel on using special ramps that bridge the gap between the passenger cars and the station. Use your bike to explore Miami, Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach like you’ve never done before.

Eat healthier. You will still have to exercise willpower but at CentralFare, a dynamic urban marketplace right in the MiamiCentral station, you’ll find a selection of healthy eats. At Monger by the Voltaggio Brothers (Bryan and Michael of “Top Chef” fame), you can curate your own meal via an interactive menu inspired by a grocery list.

Disconnect more. Vow to spend your commuting time on Brighline trains de-stressing, relaxing, reading or getting a little shut eye. But if you do need to text or check your email, know that you can use Brightline’s fast and free Wi-Fi – something you can’t do when stuck in your car in South Florida traffic!

Spend quality time with family. The Brightline train stations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach are all a hop, skip and a jump (or quick Uber ride) to family-friendly leisure attractions including museums, parks and beaches. The kids will love joining you on the train. There are family-friendly seat configurations that you can reserve in advance when booking your tickets. In the not too distant future, you’ll even be able to travel by train with the kids to Orlando.

Get a new job. The search is on you, but know that your new job in Miami, Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach does not have to involve a stressful commute with South Florida traffic – you can relax as you travel by train. So now, if you live in Miami, you can consider employment opportunities in Fort Lauderdale or even West Palm Beach (or the reverse). Be sure to widen your job search, knowing that the Brightline train can enhance your commute.

Learn something new. Consider taking a local adult education class or working towards a new degree at one of the universities or community colleges in South Florida. You can save time and money taking the train to Miami or from Miami to Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach. Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus is just steps away from the MiamiCentral train station. Broward Collage’s Fort Lauderdale campus is also within walking distance of the Fort Lauderdale Brightline train station.

Enjoy life to the fullest. Your backyard is going to get much bigger. Go ahead and stay out late to see to see a concert or show, catch a Miami Heat game at the American Airlines Arena, visit hangout spots or dance the night away on Las Olas Boulevard. A Brightline train will get you safely back home.

Whatever you resolve to do in 2017, Brightline will be there starting next summer to help get you there faster and easier than ever before.
